Spectator Information

The City of Lincoln 10K, with a looped course, provides a number of vantage points for spectators wanting to cheer on friends and family or just experience the atmosphere of the day.

Viewing points

Key locations will be the roundabout at the junction of Riseholme Road and Newport and along both of these roads. Newport is a prime spot to watch and enjoy the atmosphere created by the various entertainment groups, before grabbing a coffee on Bailgate before meeting up with your friends/family at the end. The Longdales Road and Nettleham Road roundabout is also a great place to see the runners as they break into their stride.

Meeting up with your friends or family

The best place to meet up with family and friends before the event is Yarborough Leisure Centre. The recommended meeting point after the run is in the race village at The Lawn, which is at the rear of the castle.

My Journey...
Ian Warvill

Ian challenged himself to complete the Asda Foundation Hull 10K in 2013 after he was diagnosed with cancer. Ian, 48, had to have one of his legs amputated after doctors discovered a tumour in his ankle. But he has defied his illness and come back fighting! Ian chose to raise funds for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal after being inspired by Jane’s story. Ian was given a carbon foot which has allowed him to do most things – running, however, has still been difficult. He set himself the target of finishing the race – and he achieved just that! Ian said: “I decided to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal because she was such an inspirational figure and I couldn’t think of a better cause.”
