My Journey...
Nigel and Amy Johnson

Nigel Johnson and his sixteen-year-old daughter Amy from Sleaford, took part in their first ever 10k run to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Nigel’s mum, Julie, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1994 and died six years later. The family will never forget the charity’s help

Nigel said: “It was mum’s Macmillan Nurse, Judy, who was able to help us make sense of everything. Judy was a friend when we needed it most.”

My Journey...
Gladys Tingle

Remarkable fundraising pensioner Gladys Tingle celebrated her 84th birthday by tackling the Lincoln 10K in 2015. She power walked her way around the course to raise money for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. Gladys, of Horncastle, who was joined at the event by her grandson, Jason, said: “I like to keep fit and I walk five miles each day.”

Since turning 70-years-old, Gladys’s fundraising efforts in aid of the air ambulance service have included completing two marathons and more than 10 half marathons, raising a total of over £12,000.
