The spectacular backdrop of York’s rich cultural heritage, coupled with the quaint residential streets and riverside section make for a great event for spectators out on route. Bring the friends and family and make a day out of it, exploring this wonderful, vibrant city centre either side of the race.
Activities, entertainment and catering for all whilst the race is in progress, will be available in the event village.
Standing next to York Minster as the runners pound past remains the most popular spot for spectators on route. The area on Knavesmire Road approaching the finish is very popular, as friends and family can cheer runners home before enjoying the Event Village. However, the route throughout is spectator friendly and we encourage noise and numbers on all sections.
The best place to meet up with family and friends before and after the race is in the event village on the Knavesmire.
Roxana lined up for the Asda Foundation York 10k 2013 to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of Hull and York Medical School, where she works as a PA. Her efforts also raised money for the five hospices in the area covered by the medical school. Roxana also took part in last year’s Leeds 10K. She said: “I really enjoyed the runs and they helped to keep me fit.”
