Getting There

Travelling to Burnley is relatively easy with great connections to Leeds and Manchester via train and the various motorway networks.

Burnley has three separate train stations serving both the local area (East Lancashire Line) and lines between Leeds and Manchester. Visit the National Rail website for service information.

Burnley Bus Station is only a short walk away from the start/finish in Towneley Park. We would advise to check services and schedules when planning your journey.

Parking on event day will be available within Towneley Park and can only be accessed via the Deer Park Road entrance.  All parking is pay and display. Alternatively, parking is available only a short walk away at a number of council car parks in the town centre, although please be aware that some car parks may have access restricted due to road closures in place for the event.

Please note that The Woodgrove Car park (Towneley Holmes Road) will be unavailable this year, as The Showmans Guild wakes fun fair will be on that site.

Access to Towneley Park car parks is via Red Leys Road / Brunshaw Road onto Deer Park Road throughout the event – please pay attention to our road closure advice page to avoid the pre-race closures.

Anyone parking in the car parks off Park Bridge Road can access and exit throughout the event, but please note access to Burnley town centre via Ridge Avenue or Harry Potts Way will be limited until 11:30am.

Access will be signed from Brunshaw Road and into the park via Deer Park Road.

As with any event, we expect traffic to be busy, so please allow extra time for your journey.

Please be aware that a number of roads will be affected by closures on the day. Road closure advice will be issued prior to the event.
