Spectator Information

Spectators are an integral part of the Asda Foundation Yorkshire Marathon experience. The course itself boasts a unique combination of historic sights and beautiful rural scenery before returning to the traditional University of York Heslington Campus. As a result, the course offers many opportunities for spectators, as well as runners, to enjoy the event and its surroundings.

Spectator Travel

A pre-bookable spectator bus service will be available from the Elvington Airfield Park & Run to the University of York and on to the City Centre and the marathon spectator areas in Stamford Bridge and Dunnington. Further details will be released closer to the event.

Peak Times

Remember that thousand of spectators are expected to line the course for the Asda Foundation Yorkshire Marathon and, inevitably, there will be peak times where spectators points will be very busy. Please be patient when travelling between spectator points and consider planning a second option in case your first spectator point is too busy.

Event Village

Family & Friends Meeting Points

There will be official meeting points, clearly marked with flags. The first meeting point will be immediately outside the Exhibition Centre and the second in the charity village. 

Catering

The University of York will be providing a range of catering options throughout the day. For more information on the different locations please click here

Entertainment 

You can look forward to the carnival atmosphere continuing throughout the event village. 

Charity Village

The charity village should be a must-do on race day. Here you'll find a host of activities, entertainment and well-deserved refreshments. There'll be lots to see and do and it's a great place to meet up, too. Don't forget to pay a visit to the official charity partners who will be in the event village. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the atmosphere and host of great facilities.
