School Challenge

School Challenge 2010

Following the success of last year’s school competition, we are encouraging schools to get a team together and get your pupils registered. Unlike previous years there is not a minimum number of runners you need to enter in order to register a team, we simply ask that you get as many of your pupils to take part and enjoy being part of a fun event!
How to enter?

It really is simple. All you need to do is send a letter home with your pupils asking their parent or guardian to follow the links to the website to get their child registered. Upon registration, along with their child’s personal details, they will be asked to enter the school’s name. This way we can enter you into the schools competition which will make your school eligible for prizes in both primary and secondary school categories. Alternatively, if you have permission from the parents the school can register the pupils direct.

On race day prizes will be awarded in the following categories.

  • Fastest Female (Junior Run) 1st,2nd,3rd
  • Fastest Male (Junior Run) 1st, 2nd, 3rd
  • Fastest finishing school in both Primary and Secondary category

Fundraising

We would like to encourage participants to raise a minimum of £10 each for charity, your school or indeed any other good cause provided they feel comfortable to do so. There is no reason why funds cannot be raised for a combination of causes, whatever suits best.

This year those schools who choose to fundraise for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal will be helping to raise funds towards the refurbishment of the Children’s waiting area in the Paediatric x-ray and ultra sound department at the Claredon Wing, Leeds General Infirmary.

Children throughout the region visit the department and with the support of schools like yours, we can help to make the experience just a bit brighter. For more information please email info@runforall.com

A message from Education Leeds Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team:

“Please note that this visit will be classed as a category 2 educational visit and will not need approval by the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team.  Approval will still need to be sought from the Headteacher and risk assessments will be needed for the event supervision and transport (if you arrange it).  In order to assist you with this the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team will be producing a generic risk assessment for the event which will be forwarded to any schools taking part.  Please support the event and we hope to see you there.  If you need any help please contact us on 0113 2475778 or 2475785.”

If you would like to receive further information regarding the event including leaflets which you can give out to your pupils please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@runforall.com
