Colleagues from the company are set to form the biggest team in the popular series, supported by the Asda Foundation, which includes Leeds, York, Hull and Pennine Lancashire 10Ks.
Colleagues at Asda’s Leeds headquarters snapped up places in the popular 10ks at a special event organised to promote the annual series, which raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.
The Leeds 10K alone has raised over £2m since its launch in 2007.
Julie Ward, Asda Foundation manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to once again be supporting the Leeds, York, Hull and Pennine Lancashire 10Ks.
“In previous years Asda Colleagues have been enthusiastic supporters of these events, which provide a boost for so many good causes, and this year they will again be out in force.”
At the special event in the Asda Atrium, as well as having the chance to sign up to one or all of the events, Colleagues had the chance to win some great prizes and pick up training tips from one of the city’s best-known personal trainers James Hirst.
A new Asda Running Club was also launched for the hundreds of Colleagues who work in Asda House.
Lynne Preston, Senior Event Lead at Run For All, said: “Every year #TeamAsda turns the streets of Leeds, Hull, York and Burnley into a sea of Asda green! We’re really looking forward to seeing them all back again in 2014.”
The Jane Tomlinson Run For All 10K Series is part of the lasting legacy of Jane Tomlinson CBE, the mum-of-three from Leeds who raised almost £2m by completing a series of incredible physical challenges despite suffering from incurable cancer.
The Hull 10K takes place on Sunday 8th June, the Pennine Lancahsire 10K takes place in Burnley on Sunday 22nd June, the Leeds 10K is on Sunday 20th July and the York 10K hits the streets on Sunday 3rd August.
