Business battle lines drawn ahead of Sunday’s Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge

Companies were out to kick their rivals into touch when they took part in a rugby-themed quiz ahead of this Sunday’s Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge.

Hundreds of businessmen and women from over 70 companies will be vying to show that their firm has the fastest feet in this Sunday’s challenge, a popular feature of the Asda Foundation Leeds 10K and the biggest contest of its kind in the region.

And on Tuesday [7th July] teams had an early chance to claim the early bragging rights in the 10K Rugby World Cup Challenge, a light-hearted rugby-themed event in which teams tackled quiz questions and physical challenges as part of a pre-race fun social evening at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.

It was Blacks Solicitors who emerged triumphant with Dynamic in second and Baker Tilly taking third place.

Graham Watson, corporate manager at Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, organisers of the 10K, said: “Our corporate evenings are a brilliant opportunity for networking and allow teams to engage in a bit of pre-race banter.

“The event in Leeds went very well and congratulations go to Blacks Solicitors on their early victory. It sets things up very nicely for Sunday when we shall see which team will carry off the corporate challenge trophy.”

It’s now all to play for in this weekend’s main event, when the times of the fastest runners in each team will be calculated and trophies awarded.

Thousands of people are expected to take part in the Leeds which is in its ninth year and has raised over £2.5m since its launch in 2007.

The race will start at 9:30 on Vicar Lane and finish on the Headrow.

The Leeds 10K is supported by the Asda Foundation, Clarion, Leeds City Council, Yorkshire Evening Post, Runner’s World, The, Run247 Banana Kick, Heart radio and LTS.
