Lincoln’s beautiful Castle is also one to keep an eye out for! Constructed during the late 11th century, it has stood the test of time and continues to proudly look over the City of Lincoln. Two iconic and rare documents, dating to the early 13th century, are also on display in a subterranean vault inside Lincoln Castle. This is the only place in the world where you can see original copies of both the Magna Carta (1215) and the Charter of the Forest (1217).
Fancy a more site-seeing? Then don't miss this simply stunning early 16th century town building which forms an archway over the main High Street. The Guildhall has been used since its construction in 1520. It houses numerous pieces of regalia, including the sword of Richard II, Mayor’s Chains of Office and Mayor’s posy ring.
Lincoln's late Elizabethan Mansion Doddington Hall boasts a spectacular garden that remains faithful to the original Elizabethan layout. Mellow walls provide the framework for the formal East Front and West Gardens. The Hall itself is worth a look around too!
