Mike Tomlinson tells the Run For All story as For All News monthly newsletter is launched.
Here at Run For All we are proud to launch the VERY FIRST edition of For All News - our brand new monthly newsletter for the whole Run For All community.
As we continue to grow with new events added to our calendar every year, we do not want the special foundations Jane built us to ever be forgotten.
Run For All was born in 2007 thanks to the late Jane Tomlinson CBE and the Leeds 10K; that really is a tiny part of the story. Jane’s husband Mike tells the Run For All story, something each and every one of you should feel proud to be part of.
“By 2007 Jane was towards the end of her life and had raised almost £2million for local and national charities through her series of incredible challenges that started with running the London Marathon and culminated in a 4,200-mile bike ride across America.
“She wanted to make sure the fundraising would continue long after she was gone and that’s where the idea of the Leeds 10K, and ultimately Run For All, came from.
“It was always Jane’s vision to create something where anyone could be involved, whether fundraising for causes close to their heart, looking to be fit and active or just trying to have some fun.
“We’ve definitely grown a lot since 2007 – from one Leeds 10K to Fun Runs, a 5K, ten 10Ks, a 10-mile, four Half Marathons and the Yorkshire Marathon every year – but we’ve never forgotten who we are.
“Charity remains at our absolute core, we keep striving to remove barriers for participation and do everything we can to create a special community to be proud of because we really are For All.
“The millions that have been raised as part of that help to change lives and the memories that have been created by anyone involved in the Run For All journey are truly special.
“Everything we do is in Jane’s memory because Run For All will always be her legacy.”
