Event Team Manager

Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All is one of the UK’s biggest not-for-profit sporting event companies, staging a large number of high profile mass participation events including the Lincoln 10K, Leeds 10K and York 10Ks, Leeds Half Marathon, Sheffield Half Marathon and The Yorkshire Marathon.

Run For All is now looking for an experienced, organised, efficient and enthusiastic Event Team Manager to join its busy Leeds-based team.

As an Event Team Manager you will work on the planning and delivery of a number of Run For All’s events, with particular emphasis on the technical side of things.

The successful applicant will play a key role in developing and maintaining policies and procedures, producing the Event Management Plans and overseeing the creation of risk assessments. On event days, the Event Team Manager will be vital in ensuring the events are delivered to an exceptionally high standard, providing an inspiring and enjoyable experience for our tens of thousands of participants and spectators.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to have experience of working to tight deadlines and have previously delivered exciting and innovative events, both to time and on budget. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate excellent project management skills, have the ability to juggle several projects at a time, be highly-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Excellent communication skills are a must and applicants should also be proficient in a range of IT packages, including Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point and Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Project would be an advantage.

A genuine enthusiasm for sports will be an advantage in this role.

Salary: £26k to £31k dependent on experience – different to above

Reports to: Head of Events

Relationships: Internal: CEO, Head of Events, Event Team Managers, PR, Marketing & Corporate Teams, Events and Administration Teams.

External: General public, volunteers, suppliers, contractors, sponsors, local authorities and agencies and charities.

Main Responsibilities:

Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent in a sports or events field.

Knowledge and Experience: A sound understanding of event planning and management with significant demonstrable experience, ideally within a similar industry; fully conversant with a range of IT packages, including Microsoft Office, Power Point, Word and Excel. Experience of Microsoft Project would be advantageous.
