Label printing industry specialists AB Graphic International stuck it to the opposition when they triumphed in one of the biggest corporate challenges in East Yorkshire.

The Bridlington-based company’s ‘A’ team showed their rivals a clean pair of heels to win the KC Hull 10K Corporate Challenge.

A popular feature of the Asda Foundation Hull 10K, the times of the first three runners home in each team are used to calculate the fastest firm in the race.

AB Graphic International ‘A’ carried off the trophy with a winning time of 2:00:32, ahead of Arco ‘G’ who clocked 2:01:13 to take second place with Hull Tigers ‘B’ third in 2:08:19. The fastest man in the corporate challenge was AB Graphic’s Nick Hellewell who recorded 37:12 for the 10K. Natalie Bell, of Viking FM, crossed the line in a time of 41:18 landing her the prize for fastest woman.

Hundreds of business people took part in the challenge and Alan Worthing, KC’s Director of Business, said: “It was excellent to see so many companies and organisations getting involved in the event.

“It’s clearly a popular challenge and many congratulations to AB Graphic International on their victory. Hopefully they will be back next year to defend their crown.”

The 10K and the corporate challenge are organised by Run For All, part of the legacy of the late Jane Tomlinson, who after being diagnosed with terminal cancer tackled a series of gruelling endurance events to raise nearly £2m for charity.

Graham Watson, Run For All’s corporate manager, said: “The KC Corporate Challenge adds a great dimension to the Hull 10K and we are very grateful to our sponsors and all the firms who took part to make it possible.”
