East Yorkshire’s biggest business battle – outside the boardroom at least – returns on Sunday June 19th when hundreds of businessmen and women pull on their trainers for the KCOM Hull 10K Corporate Challenge.
Teams from companies and across the region will be fighting for the right to be crowned as the region’s fastest firm.
The challenge – the biggest of its kind in the region - is a popular feature of the Asda Foundation Hull 10K, which is now in its 7th year.
As well as competing for the title of fastest firm, the corporate challenge runners will help raise thousands of pounds for local and national charities.
Brendon Smurthwaite, community co-ordinator for KCOM – formerly KC, said: “It’s great to be involved in the corporate challenge for a fourth successive year and it’s very encouraging to see firms already coming forward to snap up a place.
“It brings an added dimension to the event and is a great opportunity for companies to promote team bonding and engage in a bit of friendly rivalry whilst raising money for very worthy causes.”
The challenge is open to teams of at least five members, with the times of the first three home used to calculate the winners.
The reigning champions are AB Graphic International.
Charlie Tatman, Event Manager for the Hull 10K organisers Run For All, said: “The KCOM Hull Corporate Challenge is a great feature of the day and it’s not surprising that some companies return year after year. A big thank you to KCOM for once again supporting the event.”
