A proud day for Plusnet

The team from Plusnet did themselves proud in the Sheffield 10K corporate challenge winning the fastest team title on Sunday 24th September, 2017. 

Staff from broadband company Plusnet did themselves proud when they took part in the Sheffield 10K Corporate Challenge.

A popular feature of the 10K, the challenge is a race within a race in which firms and other organisations from across the region compete to lift the title of fastest team in the event.

Teams must have at least five members with the times of the first three home used to calculate the results.


Plusnet triumphed with an average time of 41:02. HLM Architects took second place in 41:41 and Arup clocked 42:39 to finish third.

Peter Nimmo, of HLM Architects, was the fastest male runner in the challenge with a time of 36:54. Jessica King, of the Arena Group, completed the run in 47:43 to win the quickest female prize. There were trophies for the winning team and the individual winners received TomTom watches.

Head of Marketing at Plusnet, Chris Cotterill said: "I'm proud the team managed to bring home the trophy and we're already looking forward to coming next year to defend the title.

Hot on Plusnet's heels, HLM's Marie Hughes said: "We are absolutely delighted to have finished in 2nd place in the Corporate challenge and to have raised monies for local charities. We are looking forward to taking part again next year".

Samantha Birchall, Senior Business Development Coordinator and Team Captain of third place ARUP said: "We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the 10k, especially after passing half way! Team Arup will be back next year, hoping the weather is as great, and aiming for 1st place!"

Siobhan Curtis, corporate manager with Run For All, organisers of the 10K, said: "We were delighted with the response to the corporate challenge, which brings that element of friendly team rivalry to the 10K

"It was a very enjoyable event and many of the teams took the opportunity to raise money for some excellent good causes. Many congratulations to the Plusnet team who recorded an excellent time to take first place".
