GEAR 10K sells out for second year running

Race places gone in a flash as runners GEAR up for popular annual 10K run.

The Asda Foundation Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) has SOLD OUT for Sunday 6th May making it the biggest Gear 10k in the run's history!

With just days to go until race day, runners from across the region have snapped up all 3,000 available places.

After an impressive GEAR 2017 under the organisation of not-for-profit organisation Run For All, runners were clearly keen to secure their places for 2018.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, Head of Events at Run For All, organisers of the event, said: “Places in GEAR were popular from the moment we opened entries, so it’s no surprise that all spots have now been snapped up.

“Well done to all those who secured their places – we’ll see you soon!”

The only way to enter the event is now through charity places. A number of causes still have a limited number of places in the event: the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lymphoma Association, West Norfolk MIND, Purfleet Trust and Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. Anyone wanting to secure one of those should contact the charity concerned directly.

The festivities on Sunday 6th May will also include the popular Bespak Mini Gear. The 1.2-mile fun run for people of all ages and abilities (entrants must be 6 years and up) will take place at Tuesday Market Place just before the 10K. Every finisher will receive a Mini GEAR medal and a goody bag to show off their achievements.

Run For All is part of the lasting legacy of the late Jane Tomlinson CBE who raised almost £2m for charity through a series of endurance challenges, despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Its stable of events already includes successful Asda Foundation 10K Series with run in Leeds, Lincoln, Sheffield, York, Hull, Burnley, Bury, Leicester and Nottingham. Run For All also offers runners with Half Marathons in Sheffield, Leeds, Hull and Derby; a Yorkshire 10 Mile and Yorkshire Marathon.
