Turn your work mates into team mates in the Bespak Grand East Anglia Run Corporate Challenge

Staff from companies across Norfolk are preparing to pull on their trainers for one of the region’s biggest corporate running events.

The Bespak GEAR 10K Corporate Challenge – a chance to inject a bit of fun and fitness into the workplace – is only 3 weeks away.

A race within a race, the challenge is a popular feature of the Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) 10K, which takes place in King’s Lynn on Sunday 6th May 2018.

Businesses, sports clubs, church groups and other organisations will compete for the title of fastest team in the race. The times of the first three member’s home are used to calculate the winners.

Teams will also benefit from exclusive on the day hospitality, branded team T-shirts to run in and extra souvenirs.

Among those already signed up to this exciting challenge are market leaders within King’s Lynn for electrical wholesaling, Edmundson Electrical.

Steve Franklin, Internal Sales Representative at Edmundson Electrical, said: “There are two of us in branch who are keen runners and have been running for a number of years. As a branch we thought we would try to encourage some of the staff to get fit and run the GEAR 10K with us.

Four of the staff (and the 2 of us) took up this challenge and it will be great for us to see them progress through the training and hopefully achieve some goals on the day.

Hopefully next year this will encourage others so that we can become a stronger team.

We’re not taking part to win, is just purely to challenge individuals to succeed in things out of their comfort zone”

Returning to take on the challenge this year, are Stephenson Smart Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors. Derek Donaldson, Office Manager at Stephenson Smart has been telling us why they will be returning to the event: “We are really looking forward to taking part in the GEAR Corporate Challenge. It’s a great opportunity to get involved with a fantastic local event and get a bit fitter into the bargain.”

Hettie Barker, Sponsorship and Corporate Executive of event organiser Run For All, said: “Corporate challenges are a very successful feature of a number our 10Ks.

“They are a great way to foster team spirit and, of course, provide a great opportunity to support the work of some excellent charities.”

Keyvan Djamarani, Manager Director of corporate challenge sponsor, Bespak, said: “We are delighted to sponsor the GEAR 10K Corporate Challenge. Along with promoting a bit of friendly rivalry, it makes a big contribution to the brilliant race day atmosphere.

We look forward to taking part with all the teams that have signed up, good luck to you all.”

Teams who have already entered GEAR 10K are able to upgrade their entries to receive all of the extra benefits. Those interested should email corporate@runforall.com or call 0113 826 7756.
