Runners look forward to Hull Running Festival as popular road races return for 2019

Hull Running Festival returns to the city for 2019 with its prestigious Hull 10K and much-loved Hull Half Marathon.

The Asda Foundation Hull Running Festival will return to the city next year on Sunday 2nd June, organisers Run For All announced today.

Following a successful debut in 2018, the festival will again include the well-established Asda Foundation Hull 10K and the Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon – held for the first time this year.

And to add to the spirit of friendly competition, both events will include a Corporate Challenge – sponsored by MKM – in which companies will compete for the title of fastest firm in the race.

Both the routes will start and finish in Alfred Gelder Street and take in a number of Hull’s cultural and historic landmarks including Holy Trinity Church and Hull City Hall.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, Run For All’s head of events, said: “We were delighted with the success of the new half marathon. Combined with the 10K and the corporate challenges, it made for a great festival of running which attracted thousands of entrants and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.”

The 2019 Asda Foundation Hull Running Festival will be supported by Up & Running, Aftershokz, Arla Protein, Runderwear, Hull Daily Mail, MKM, Arco, Hull City Council, Hertz, Erdinger, Banana Kick, Viking FM and, title sponsor, Asda Foundation.

Mandy Rivett, Asda Foundation co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this festival of running. It offers a great choice of events and presents people with a wonderful opportunity to get fitter and support some excellent good causes.”

Runners can choose to run for fun, for a personal challenge or to support a charity of their choice. They are especially encouraged to raise funds for one of the event’s partner charities.

In 2018, a number of partner charities were handed a huge cash boost at the Asda Foundation Hull Running Festival including - Child Dynamix, Macmillan Cancer Support, Dove House Hospice, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Hull Homeless Community Project, Candlelighters, Hull and East Riding Breast Friends, Special Stars Foundation and Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

A flash offer is now on! All runners securing their entry before Monday midnight can purchase the Hull Half Marathon for £25 and Hull 10K for £20!
