As you will no doubt know, there is a weather warning in place for the City of Lincoln 10K tomorrow.
We are continuing to monitor the forecasts very closely and are still hopeful the event will take place as scheduled.
As agreed with the City of Lincoln Council, it will be determined whether the event will go ahead by 8am tomorrow. If we are in a position to make a decision earlier we will, but currently the weather forecasts remain changeable.
We know cancelling the event would be extremely disappointing for all those who have trained and fundraised so we are doing everything we can to try to ensure it goes ahead. Gritters are out now and are planning to be for the rest of the evening and tomorrow morning.
However, our first and foremost priority is runner and spectator safety and any decision will ultimately be governed by that.
Thank you for bearing with us – we really appreciate your patience, especially from those who are travelling a distance to the event.
Parking and getting there
We also wanted to let you know about an update to the parking arrangements for tomorrow. With the recent weather, there is a chance some areas of the car park at Sudbrooke Drive might not be in the best condition.
We’re therefore asking people to park at Yarborough Leisure Centre instead – or take advantage of a NEW FREE shuttle service from the city centre to the start.
Buses will run from Tentercroft Street (postcode LN5 7DB, just south of the Railway Station) from 8am. There is plentiful parking in the area at Tentercroft Street itself, and at Lincoln Central (LN5 7BP) and Chaplin Street (LN5 7BN). Please note, local car parking charges will apply.
The shuttle will return to Tentercroft Street post-event (picking up from the Museum of Lincolnshire Life) or you are welcome to walk the short distance from the finish. A shuttle service will also return runners to Yarborough.
With the outlook uncertain, please do leave as much extra time to travel as you can - and, of course, ensure you drive according to the conditions on the day.
If you can park in the centre and use the shuttle, please do as it's likely to take longer to park additional vehicles at Yarborough in the morning. If parking at Yarborough (LN1 3SP), follow the event signs and please do be patient with staff - they'll get you in and out as quickly as they can.
All other information about the event can be found in your race guide, which can be viewed here.
Updates on weather will be posted on our website and we will email and text you (if you have given us a mobile number) to let you know if the event is going ahead or not. You can also follow us on our social media channels at Facebook and Twitter.
