Weather forecasters have issued a ‘yellow warning’ for snow this weekend.
Current Met Office predictions show that snow is likely to fall on Friday and Saturday, with freezing temperatures and possible ice also a concern.
We are closely monitoring the situation and consulting with health and safety professionals as well as the City of Lincoln Council and Lincolnshire County Council, on how it might affect the Lincoln Mini and Junior Runs and the City of Lincoln 10K, to be held on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March, respectively.
The welfare of our participants and spectators is our number one priority and we will take all measures we can to ensure their safety.
We will be communicating with our participants as and when we have any information to share. If the event(s) are to be significantly affected, we will endeavour to give as much warning as we can.
In the meantime, we are asking our runners to be mindful of the weather forecast for the weekend and ensure they are prepared for the cold temperatures and possible snow and ice. We would ask participants and spectators to ensure they are dressed for the weather and plan to leave plenty of extra time for travel.
We would like to assure runners we’re taking all the steps we can and we’ll be in touch further.
