Jennifer Ashcroft prepares for her first Half Marathon in loving memory of her Husband Kane.

Inspired by attending the 2017 Leeds Half Marathon and determined to run for Kane, Jennifer has vowed to take on this Sunday's Leeds Half Marathon.

“I chose the Leeds half marathon after attending the event last year, I was inspired.”

"I will run this event in the loving memory of my late husband Kane, who was an amzing father and unfortunately died from liver failure following a battle with testicular cancer."

Jennifer’s husband was only 28 when he was diagnosed with the cancer 2014. After intense chemotherapy and major surgery to remove a tumour from his abdomen, blood tests suggested that “things were on the up”.

However, he collapsed at home the following day. He was rushed to hospital to later find that the cancer had spread to his liver where there was now major bleeding.

Six days later, he passed aged 29 from liver failure with his son only three years of age.

Jennifer is running to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. She is forever grateful for their support throughout the traumatic experience.

“I am raising money for the teenage cancer trust as they looked after him and all the family so well while he was on the ward at St James hospital.”

Jennifer will be among thousands of runners at the Leeds Half Marathon running for a plethora of deserving causes.
