Volunteers sought for Asda Foundation Hull 10K and Half Marathon

Friends and family from far and wide are encouraged to help out at the Hull Running Festival.

A call has gone out for volunteers to help out at one of Hull’s popular charity road running festival.

Over 5,000 runners are expected to hit the streets of Hull on Sunday 10th June for the Asda Foundation Hull Running Festival featuring the Hull 10k and Half Marathon.

Event organisers Run For All are seeking volunteers to help ensure runners and spectators have a safe and enjoyable time.

Volunteers are needed for a huge variety of roles including marshalling, helping out at the start and finish and along the route, giving out water, to help in the baggage store and to hand the runners their hard-earned goody bags.

The event, organised in partnership with Hull City Council, is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for good causes.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, Run For All’s Head of Events, said: “Volunteers are vital to all our events and we could not manage without them. Helping out is a great way to give something back to your community and support charity at the same time.

“It’s also an opportunity for any regular runners not taking part to experience an event from the other side of the fence.

“Our volunteers find that getting involved in whatever capacity is really rewarding and the effort they put in is greatly appreciated by all the runners.

“We will be extremely grateful to anyone who can spare us a few hours on Sunday 10th June.”

Volunteers should be aged 16 or over, although youngsters aged 14 and 15 can help out if supervised by an adult who is also registered to volunteer. Online registration for groups and individual volunteers is now open. Groups are particularly welcomed, whether it is a group of friends or family, a Scout or Girl Guide group or a sports club.
