Masters could earn international recognition with strong showing in East Yorkshire
Veteran runners taking part in this year’s Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon are being handed an opportunity to represent England in a high profile race.
Runners who clinch one of the coveted places will be invited to pull on an England vest in the England Age Group Masters representative race within the Maidenhead Half Marathon on Sunday 1st September.
The top four eligible men and top four eligible women in each category from V35 upwards at Hull on Sunday 2nd June will be selected for England. Enter the Hull Half Marathon here.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Head of Events for Run For All, the organisers of the Hull Half Marathon, said: “We are delighted that the Hull Half Marathon has been chosen by England Athletics to be part of the prestigious Masters competition.
“We launched the Hull Half last year and it enjoyed a great debut and with a chance to qualify for an England vest, veteran runners have an added incentive to enter. We look forward to welcoming them on 2nd June.”

This is the first time the half marathon distance has been included in the England Age Group Masters.
The programme was first launched in 2016 with the chance to qualify for an England age group vest at the marathon distance with the addition of the 10k in 2018. So far, approximately 400 club runners between the ages of 35 and 85 have represented the England Age Group Masters team.
