Leeds Santa Dash marks triumphant finale of Kevin Sinfield’s 7in7: Together Challenge

Leeds was awash with festive colour and community spirit today as thousands of participants took to the streets for Rum For All’s inaugural Leeds Santa Dash, forming part of the final leg of Kevin Sinfield’s 7in7:Together Challenge.  

At 14:00, a sea of red and Christmas cheer surged from the starting line at Leeds Beckett University, where MND campaigner and rugby legend, Kevin Sinfield officially set the runners on their way. Moments after, Kevin then embarked on his own symbolic finale – completing his Extra Mile challenge on the university campus track, cheered on by supporters and families affected by Motor Neurone Disease. 

With the atmosphere bussing and the Santa Dash in full swing, Kevin then followed the masses and made his final journey toward AMT Headingley Stadium – the emotional endpoint of his seventh and final day of running.  

This year’s Santa Dash was not only a festive celebration but a unifying show of support for the ongoing fight against MND. Participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds helped create a memorable and emotional finale, demonstrating the incredible community strength that continues to drive Kevin’s mission. 

Funds raised from the 7in7: Together Challenge will continue to support vital MND charities and research, helping move closer to improved care and ultimately, a cure.
