Thousands of runners, spectators, and volunteers took to the streets of Leeds this morning for the much-loved Leeds 10K, as the city once again hosted Run For All’s flagship 10K event.
Since first being created by Jane Tomlinson in 2007, the Leeds 10K has become the event where the Run For All journey began, growing from one inspirational race into a nationwide series of events that now sees hundreds of thousands of people take on challenges while fundraising for charity.
Participants of all ages and abilities completed the 10K route, with charity fundraisers, experienced athletes, workplace teams, and first-time runners all playing their part in a powerful display of community spirit, determination, and the spirit that has defined the event for almost two decades.
Continuing the legacy of Jane Tomlinson, the event also raised vital funds for a wide range of local and national charities. Runners supported causes close to their hearts, as well as official partner charities including Family Fund, Home-Start Leeds, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Leeds Community Healthcare, Lighthouse Futures, Leeds Hospitals Charity, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support, Women’s Health Matters and Zarach.
The race began at 09:00 from the Parkinson Steps at the University of Leeds, with runners making their way through the city centre before finishing along The Headrow, where crowds gathered to cheer them home.
In the men’s race, Jack Cummings finished first in 00:31:00, with Abdu Ahmed coming second in 00:31:34 and Carter Taylor third in 00:31:35.
In the women’s race, Stella Cross took the win in 00:35:59, followed by Sarah Hunter in 00:36:25 and Lyndsey Eastman in 00:36:36.
Following the main race, the Mini and Junior events gave younger runners the chance to get involved, bringing plenty of energy to the day and helping to inspire the next generation of runners while continuing to support charitable causes.
With 2026’s event complete, attention now turns to a landmark year for the Leeds 10K. In 2027, the event will celebrate 20 years since Jane Tomlinson launched the very first Leeds 10K - the race that laid the foundations for Run For All and its ongoing mission to inspire communities to be active and raise money for good causes.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, commented: “Once again, it’s been incredible to see so many people come together in Leeds — whether running, volunteering or supporting from the sidelines.
“The Leeds 10K is about more than just crossing the finish line. It’s about bringing people together, supporting charities, creating unforgettable moments and encouraging people of all ages to get active.
“Being our flagship 10K and the event where Run For All began, Leeds will always have a special place in our hearts. As we look ahead to celebrating 20 years in 2027, we’re excited to welcome a new generation of runners to be part of this very special chapter in the event’s history.”
