Excitement is building across the city as thousands of runners prepare to take on the Leeds 10K, returning on Sunday 14th June for another unforgettable celebration of community spirit, determination and charitable fundraising.
Since its launch in 2007, the Leeds 10K has grown into one of Yorkshire’s most popular running events, attracting participants of all ages and abilities from across the region and beyond. It also laid the foundations for Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, now the UK’s largest not-for-profit events company.
This year’s event promises a memorable day, bringing together seasoned club runners, enthusiastic first-timers and those supporting causes close to their hearts. Adding to the excitement is the Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge, where teams of five from workplaces across the region compete for the fastest combined time.
A firm fixture in the city’s events calendar, the Leeds 10K is known for its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, offering a supportive experience for runners at every level.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the event continues to honour Jane’s legacy by raising vital funds for a wide range of local and national charities. Participants can choose to support a cause close to them or one of the event’s partner charities, including Family Fund, Home-Start Leeds, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, NHS Leeds Community Healthcare, Lighthouse Futures Trust, Leeds Hospitals Charity, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support, Women’s Health Matters and Zarach.
Runners will set off at 09:00 from outside the Parkinson Steps at the University of Leeds, following a route through Headingley before finishing on The Headrow, with Leeds Art Gallery providing a spectacular backdrop.
The Mini and Junior events will follow from 09:45, offering shorter distances for younger runners – 1.5K for Minis (ages 3–8) and 2.5K for Juniors (ages 9–14).
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All said: ‘The Leeds 10K is about more than just the race – it’s an opportunity to celebrate Jane’s legacy, continue her incredible fundraising work and bring communities together, while recognising the personal achievements of every runner.
‘We’re excited to welcome participants of all abilities, whether it’s someone taking on their very first event, a seasoned runner, or those competing in the Corporate Challenge – there’s something for everyone. With places still available, we’d encourage anyone who wants to experience Leeds at its best to sign up soon.’
