Lorraine runs Lincoln Half Marathon for Jerry Green Dog Rescue

Lorraine is running this year’s Lincoln Half Marathon to fundraise for Jerry Green Dog Rescue; having long been a supporter of the charity and fundraising for the vital work that they do.

Over the years, Lorraine has taken on many incredible challenges to raise money for the charity – sometimes even in fancy dress!

“I have been fundraising and supporting Jerry Green Dog Rescue for 15 years. The main way of fundraising for me is via activities and events. From taking on challenges like 60 Miles in May and walking over the Humber Bridge dressed as dogs, to hiking the Yorkshire Three Peaks and even scaling Mont Blanc.”

Jerry Green Dog Rescue works to provide a safe loving home for dogs, and to support people in giving their dogs as good a life as possible.

“Jerry Green Dog Rescue is such a wonderful charity, and as it is a local organisation, I get to see first-hand where my fundraising efforts go. The staff are amazing and give their heart and souls to ensuring the best care and welfare for the dogs.”

Now, Lorraine is taking on an even bigger challenge for the charity, which is also an official partner charity for the Lincoln Half Marathon.

“This year, I’m focusing on a series of 10 runs finishing with the New York City Marathon, with the Lincoln Half Marathon being my final event beforehand.”

The funds raised will help support the work Jerry Green Dog Rescue does, and we’ll all be cheering you on for race day Lorraine!

“Sadly, no matter how hard they work, the dogs continue to come in, and the need for funds is ever increasing, that's where us fundraisers come in. It's a privilege to help wherever I can - even when it really hurts!”
