Matthew Comes From New Zealand to Run Yorkshire Marathon

After living in New Zealand for most of his life, Matthew is taking part in the Altra Yorkshire Marathon this year as a step towards his new life, as he will be making the move to Maidenhead in Berkshire this August.

"Running has been a constant in my life for the past five years, and signing up for the Yorkshire Marathon felt like the perfect way to mark the next chapter of my journey."

Having already completed marathons in both New Zealand and Australia, he is hoping to set a new personal best during his UK challenge.

"For me, running is more than just fitness; it's a way to ground myself through life's transitions. As I settle into a new country, new job, and new community, running offers a familiar rhythm, and a sense of purpose. Being part of the Yorkshire Marathon allows me to connect with others, push my limits, and continue a journey that's become such an important part of who I am."
