While Brandon is professional boxer and an ex-professional rugby player, his Mother-in-Law is still the strongest person he’s ever met, and he will be running the Altra Yorkshire 10 Mile for her on Sunday.
Brandon’s Mother-in-Law, Lynn, initially faced breast cancer 21-years-ago, enduring the treatments and pain with determination and beating the disease.
“Her recovery became a symbol of resilience, inspiring all who knew her to believe that nothing is impossible when faced with love, courage and inner strength.”
Recently however, Lynn fell ill and after what was initially thought to be pneumonia, Lynn was told that her cancer had returned.
“The words “terminal cancer” would shake anyone to their core, yet Lynn continues to embody strength. Rather than allowing fear to dictate her journey, she continues to meet each day with bravery, and an unshakeable will to live life fully.”
Brandon will be taking on the Altra Yorkshire 10 Mile to raise awareness and fundraise for the family, hoping to get as much support from the community as possible.
"She has taught me, and everyone who knows her, that strength is not the absence of hardship but the ability to keep moving forward despite it.”
Lynn is an inspiration to Brandon, and the whole family, for her unwavering positivity despite the health difficulties she is facing, and this will motivate Brandon on Sunday round the 10 Mile route.
“She has proven that battles do not define us – our response to them does.”
“Her life is an inspiration, a reminder to cherish every moment and a call to face challenges not with fear, but with the courage to believe in something greater than the struggle itself.”
