Paul is running the York 10K in August to raise money for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis after his dad's own battle with the disease.
Two years ago, Paul decided that he wanted to make a difference after his dad's diagnosis, and entered an Ironman event. In doing so, he managed to raise an impressive £2000.
Unfortunately, Paul's dad lost his battle to the condition and passed away in March of last year, leaving the family devastated by the loss.
Paul's sister, Michele, is also participating in the race; although not originally a fellow runner like her brother, she is never one to give up on a challenge, and has now taken up running to enter the York 10K with Paul.
The group has also expanded: Michele's two daughters have joined the race, with Molly running with her partner Hayden, as well as Paul's own daughters, his eldest Ruby running with her boyfriend Ed.
They have already raised money through bake sales, but if you would like to give anything to the cause, the family's Just Giving page is linked below.
Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) works to provide support for patients and families, and raises awareness of the disease through campaigning, fundraising, and education.
