Rona Runs for Women and Girls in Afghanistan

Afghanistan born, Denmark raised, and now living in Ipswich, mother of four Rona is taking part in this year's Ipswich half marathon to support the women and girls in Afghanistan who are currently facing great challenges.

"Human dignity and their voices matter, and I would like to amplify their voices, because women and girls in Afghanistan face many restrictions, such as being banned from education, and even basic rights like walking to parks to exercise."

Rona wishes to inspire peace and further equality in Afghanistan, and hopes that one day they can similarly hold events like our own across every city in the country.

"I believe that, together, we can make the world a better place for everyone, regardless of gender, race, religion, or colour, and that events like the Ipswich half marathon are a great example of this."
