The Leeds Half Marathon is one of Yorkshire’s biggest event of its kind. Jane herself was proud to start the race back in 2003.

The much-loved run raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity every year and often attracts thousands of runners.

But what makes it special is the crowds. Support for runners along the route is always phenomenal, whatever the weather. Every participant will get a boost from the words of encouragement they receive.

Like all our events, the Leeds Half attracts runners of all abilities and ages. With a fantastically vibrant atmosphere guaranteed, this run could be right up your street.

So get yourself to Leeds and let's see you on the start line.

info Important Note

Do not under any circumstances allow anybody else to run with a race number under your name.
Amongst other issues, this can create major problems for the medical team should they need to treat unknown runners. Anyone found to have done this will be disqualified.

Race Number Information

Your race number will be posted to your address from Tuesday 30th April. If you don’t seem to receive your race
number in the post or live overseas, you will need to collect your race number from the Race Office on event weekend.

The Race office will be located outside GATE G (Cricket Ground) on Kirkstall Lane.

There are five assembly zones for the marathon. The colour of your bib matches your assembly zone on the start line, based on your estimated finish time. Please ensure that you start the race in the correct zone. Assembly zones will open at 8:15 am.

The race will start in the following wave order:

Blue, red, green, yellow, and purple.

Should you wish to, please note that you will be able to drop down a zone but you will not be able to move up a zone. 

Address changes

If you have changed address since registration, it is your responsibility to inform us.

What if I'm coming from overseas?

Race numbers will not be posted to those participants who provided a postal address located outside of the UK as we can’t guarantee the safe delivery of the race number.

However, if you do have a UK address that your race number can be posted to prior to the event, please contact us at info@runforall.com with details. Alternatively you will be able to collect your race number from the Race Office on the event weekend. Opening hours of the Race Office will be detailed on our website at www.runforall.com in the week prior to the event.

Important event day information will be sent to you by email and will also be available online.

Please add Run For All to your safe senders list to ensure you receive our key messages. If you’re not receiving our emails, please check your junk folder just in case.

Your race number will have the timing chip attached to the back. It will also have a tearable baggage label.

Please fill out the back of your race number with your emergency contact information. Please don’t swap your race
number with anyone, if you do, we won’t know who to call in an emergency. Any runners we find to be doing this will be disqualified.

Event Village

The bustling Event Village, located inside the Stadium will be full of activity.

To satisfy your pre and post-run fuel needs, a selection of tasty food and drink choices will be available to purchase.

There are also several bars and cafés in the area that will be sure to welcome spectators and participants and are often bursting with atmosphere after the event.

Our wonderful partner charities will also be located in the Event Village, so make sure you go say hi!

Baggage

Half Marathon Baggage Stores will open at 7:00am. when entering Gate B, please turn left to find your Baggage Store.

Please use the below Baggage Store locations depending upon your Race Number.

We kindly remind runners they will be unable to bring a bag larger than a small rucksack. This is in accordance with the Headingley Stadium ground regulations.

This is also a reminder that bags will be searched on entry to the stadium for the safety of runners and spectators. Please have your bags ready race numbers on show to gain quicker access.

Fuel & Hydration

300 ml bottled water is available on the course at 3 mile intervals and 500 ml will be available at the finish line.

Competitors are advised to ensure that they consider the effects of dehydration and drink plenty of fluids to compensate.

Please make use of the bins provided post water stations.

High 5 energy stations will also be available on course including High5 Zero tabs and energy gels.

Gels will be available at mile 5 and tabs at mile 9.

Toilets

Please only use the allocated toilets for this event located around the stadium and on course. There will be plenty of toilets which you will be able to use pre or post-race.

Run For All operates a zero-tolerance policy and any runners seen urinating anywhere other than the facilities provided will be disqualified.

Medical

Should you find you require medical assistance, personnel will be on hand to help at regular intervals on the course with fixed first aid stations located near the water stations.

In addition, there will be a first aid unit and recovery area located near the start and finish line. There will also be roaming first aiders around the Event Village.

Race Day memento

Celebrate your incredible time and your fantastic achievements with some extra event day souvenirs.

Head to the event village on race day and visit Epic Etchings to get your finishers medal engraved and Personal Best Vests to order your own personalised finisher t-shirt print to help celebrate your achievements in style.

Massage

The team from Leeds Beckett University Sports Therapy will be providing complimentary massage post-race. You will be able to find it in the Cricket nets room located inside the east stand of the Cricket Ground.

Photos

Smile! The Marathon Photos team will be on course throughout the event to snap your picture.

Results

All results will be available in the results section of the website soon after the end of the event.

However, keep in mind that it’s not all about times – you should be proud of yourself just for getting out there and getting active!

We are committed to keeping Leeds green and we understand the importance of doing our bit for the environment. Bins will be provided across the event site and we urge people to use the facilities provided.

Pacers

Our team of pacers, sponsored by Arla Protein have been organised on behalf of the Northern Pacing Volunteers.

We’ll have friendly pacers on the course, sponsored by Arla Protein who can help you stick to your intended finish time. They’ll have flags attached to them with finish times so you can choose the best pace to suit you. It should feel easy in the first half of your race and then step it up in the second leg when your race really starts. If you experience
low spells, stay positive and keep moving forward, tough moments pass. Go on, you can do it!

Headphones on event day

As this is a closed-road event, you are welcome to wear headphones, but please make sure that you are aware of your surroundings all around the course.

If you wish to listen to music on your run, please make sure you can hear the marshals’ instructions, emergency vehicles and fellow competitors.
