Young runners across the city are being encouraged to lace up their trainers as the City of Lincoln Mini and Junior run returns on Saturday 11 April, offering children aged 3 to 14 the perfect chance to get active, build confidence and enjoy a fun-filled day with friends and family.
Taking place at Yarborough Race Track, the Mini event covers 1.5km and is open to children aged 3–8, who can complete the route with a parent or guardian. The Junior event welcomes runners aged 9–14 to take on a 2.5km course designed to inspire budding athletes and first-time runners alike.
All finishers will be rewarded with post‑run goodies – including water, snacks and the all‑important finisher’s medal, perfect for showing off to friends and family.
This year brings an exciting addition: official race timing for all Junior participants. Young runners can now record and celebrate their personal achievements while still enjoying the inclusive, friendly atmosphere Run For All events are known for.
The organisation is committed to ensuring events are fully inclusive, regardless of ability. Parents or guardians of children with mobility needs, accessibility requirements or other considerations are encouraged to get in touch so organisers can support them and ensure the best possible event experience.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, commented: “Our Mini and Junior events are all about bringing young people and families together for a fun day that inspires everyone to get active. Participants can expect an exciting race‑day atmosphere, plenty of goodies at the finish, and that all‑important medal to mark their achievement.
“We’re especially pleased to offer official timing for junior runners this year, giving them the chance to track their progress and celebrate their effort. We’d love to see as many families as possible come along and get involved.”
The Lincoln Mini and Junior events are proudly supported by City of Lincoln Council and VIMTO.
