Whilst the size and number of events has grown the ethos behind Run For All is very much remains the same. We want to ensure our events are truly accessible for all and provide a fundraising vehicle for as many charities as possible.

Charity Manager
Location: Leeds
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours a week
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 dependent on experienceA unique position to manage the charity at the heart of Run For All, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. Working closely with both the marketing and events team at Run For All, this role will manage and coordinate the fundraising efforts across the Appeal whilst also overseeing and coordinating the charities core pillars.
As a dynamic and passionate organisation dedicated to making a positive impact on our community, we work across multiple initiatives to support individuals and causes in need, with a focus on improving lives through health, education, and community outreach.
As the Charity Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating a diverse range of projects within our charity, including our 4 Pillars, grant giving processes, fundraising events, communication strategies, donor care, financial management, and governance compliance. This is a crucial role in ensuring that our projects run efficiently, meet their goals, and adhere to charity regulations and best practices.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Priorities- To raise the profile of the charity and the organisations key pillars including our support of M2, the Owls Bereavement service, Kinesio taping research and training, as well as our support of research into the early detection of breast cancer.
- To support the development of the charity through growing fundraising income via the Run For All events portfolio.
- To establish and manage the charities grant giving programme
Operational Priorities
- Managing and developing the fundraising events calendar for the charity
- Developing new and existing income streams and source support in line with fundraising targets
- Develop key corporate and community partnerships to grow fundraising income
- Ensuring a high standard of stewardship for all Appeal supporters
- Regular analysis of income vs forecast
- To ensure that all the necessary records and reports are kept up to date on the internal database
Regulation
- Staying up to date with fundraising regulation and reporting changes
- Maintaining existing relevant fundraising policies and recognising the need for additional policy in our operation in response to regulation
- Ensuring our fundraising activity is safe and legal
Brand, Marketing and Communications
- Execute campaign effectively, on schedule and to budget
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to increase awareness of the charity’s programs and impact.
- Engage an array of strategic campaign partners including donors, schools and individuals
Person Specification
- Proven experience in charity project management, ideally in a leadership or coordinator role.
- Strong understanding of charity governance, including Charity Commission regulations and compliance.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in fundraising and grant management.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budget management and cost reduction.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for donor care and relationship management.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Run For All is one of the UK’s biggest not-for-profit sporting event companies, staging a large number of high-profile mass participation events including the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, York 10K, Leeds 10K, Sheffield Half Marathon and The Yorkshire Marathon in the North of England to Leicester 10K, Nottingham 10K, Coventry Half Marathon and Derby Half Marathon in the Midlands. Your role on the Event Support Team will directly contribute to Run For All’s purpose, which is to provide a fundraising vehicle for a vast amount of local and national charities through its events programme. What will you be doing?
- Assisting the execution of the Run For All events on Event Day
- Liasing and Communicating with other team members in a clear and timely manner to promote strong team work
- Supporting the Manager in your area and being their first point of call when needed
- Reviewing Key Event documentation ahead of the weekend to have a clear and confident understandings of the role expected on the day
- Managing and supporting a team of volunteers to provide them with a positive and memorable event experience
- Remaining professional throughout the day and promoting Run For All’s philosophy of high-quality, great fun events for absolutely all abilities.

We have a wide range of event day roles which we rely on the EST to fulfill. These are split down into three key areas: Event Control, Venue and Course. For each area we have staple roles needed across all events as well as specific roles only required at specific events. Please note that Venue and Course roles are considered to be physically demanding.

What will you be doing?
- Route Marshal - The route marshal is a fantastic way to see the event and help create an electric atmosphere around the route, from lead runner to backmarker!
- Drink Station Marshal - Eventeers will be ready for the first runner and the last with that all-important drink of water whilst also shouting words of motivation and support.
- Baggage Marshal - Our Baggage Eventeers will greet participants both pre and post event as they drop off and collect their belongings at the Baggage Store.
- Finish Processing Marshal - Eventeers will be ready with that all-important medal, goody-bag and water to hand to every participant as they finish their race with a well-deserved congratulations. Eventeers here will also help channel participants into the ‘T-Shirt Collection’ and ‘No T-Shirt Collection’ based on their bib so is a great role to be vocal with!
- Race Office Marshal - Participants will come here to collect their Race Numbers pre-event where our Eventeers will be on hand to assist and give them a warm welcome and calm the pre-race nerves. This is a customer facing role so our Eventeers need to be friendly, approachable and chatty!
