Run For All’s Nottingham 10k returns on Sunday 8th March, welcoming runners of all ages and abilities to one of the region’s biggest and best-loved charity running events. As thousands head into the city to take part, a series of road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place to ensure the safety of both participants and spectators.
Setting off at 9.00am, the race will begin in Old Market Square before heading north out of the city centre along Mansfield Road to Nottingham Girls’ High School. Runners will then continue onto Forest Road East and through Church Rock Cemetery before sweeping back towards the city.
Participants will pass Motorpoint Nottingham Arena and follow Canal Street before looping through the picturesque Nottingham Park Estate, known for its striking Victorian architecture. From there, it’s on to the historic castle grounds for an unforgettable finish.
With the route taking in many of Nottingham’s best-known landmarks, the event will require a number of road and junction closures, as well as the suspension of several Traffic Regulation Orders between 04:00 and 13:00 on Sunday 8th March 2026.
Parking suspensions will also be in place from 18:00 on Saturday 7th March until 11:00 on Sunday 8th March.
Key road closures include Old Market Square, which will be closed from 05:00 to 11:00 to allow for the start area build, and Lenton Road and Castle Road/Place (outside Nottingham Castle), which will be closed from 06:00 to 13:00 to facilitate the finish area.
Other roads affected include:
A60 Huntingdon Street, A6 London Road, A6005 Castle Boulevard, A6008 Lower Parliament Street, Addison Street, B684 Woodborough Road, Bluecoat Street, Canal Street, Castle Road, Carrington Street, Chatham Street, Collin Street, Duke William Mount, Forest Road East, George Street, Glasshouse Street, King Edward Street, Lenton Road, Lincoln Circus, Lower Parliament Street, Long Row West, Mansfield Road, Middle Hill, Newcastle Circus, North Sherwood Street, Park Drive, Peel Street, Peveril Drive, South Road, Tattershall Drive and Tunnel Road.
Reopening will take place in phases, with the final on-route closures lifted by 11:30am and Castle Road and Lenton Road fully reopened by 13:00.
The event is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for a wide range of charities, including official partner charities: Base 51, Framework, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Maggie’s, Mansfield Cat Rescue, Radford Care Group and Stand Against MND.
Places are still available for those who want to take part and be part of what promises to be a fantastic day for the city.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All said:
“We’re looking forward to once again welcoming participants of all ages and abilities to the Nottingham 10k.
“While some disruption is unavoidable with an event of this size, we’ve worked hard to minimise the impact wherever possible while delivering a safe and enjoyable race for everyone involved.
“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused, and our team will be working throughout the day to reopen roads as quickly as we can. We greatly appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation, and encourage as many people as possible to get involved.”
