Nottingham’s 10K made its welcome return to the city this morning, uniting thousands of runners for the much-loved event organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All. The morning's activity and atmosphere was bolstered as Joe Crutchley set a new course record, beating the previous record by nearly 4 minutes.
Runners of all ages and abilities took part – some chasing personal bests, others running with friends or simply soaking up the atmosphere – all while raising vital funds for a host of brilliant charities.
Participants set off at 9:00am from Old Market Square, heading north along Mansfield Road towards Nottingham Girls’ High School. The route then took runners onto Forest Road East, through Church Rock Cemetery and back towards the city centre. After passing the Motorpoint Nottingham Arena, participants continued along Canal Street before looping through the Nottingham Park Estate and finishing at the iconic Nottingham Castle.
Joe Crutchley was followed by Kole Perkins in 33:05 and Jack Dakin, who secured third place in 33:40.
The women’s title went to Claire Frankland, who crossed the line in 36:20. Francesca Sedgewick finished second in 38:40, with Molly Uren taking third in 38:48.
Crowds turned out in force to cheer runners along every step of the course. At the finish line, participants were rewarded with a packed goody bag, post-run refreshments, and a hard-earned medal to mark their achievement.
Once again, the event helped raise thousands of pounds for a range of vital causes, including partner charities Base 51, Framework, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Maggie’s, Mansfield Cat Rescue, Radford Care Group, and Stand Against MND.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All commented, “It was fantastic to bring the Nottingham 10K back to the city’s streets once again.
“It’s always great to see the community come together – whether people are chasing a PB, running for a cause close to their hearts, or simply enjoying being part of the event, all while raising vital funds for charity.
“A huge thank you to all the runners, sponsors, volunteers and spectators who make this event so special year after year.”
The Nottingham 10k is sponsored by Nottingham City Council, Arla Protein, Up & Running, Applied Nutrition, Coopah, Shokz, Gradwell, Marathon Photos Live, The Nottingham Park Estate, and Jog On.
