Sold-Out City of Lincoln 10K Sees Thousands Cross the Finish Line

It was celebrations all round this morning as a record number of entrants of all ages and abilities crossed the finish line at this year’s sold‑out City of Lincoln 10K, organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All with support from City of Lincoln Council.

From personal‑best chasers to charity fundraisers and runners in colourful fancy dress, participants brought energy and enthusiasm to the flat, fast course – helping create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the city.

As always, the event encouraged runners to raise money for a charity of their choice or for one of this year’s partner charities: Acts, Carers First, Framework, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lincoln City Foundation, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Lincoln Students’ Union, Linkage and Sophie’s Journey.

The elite wheelchair athlete Callum Hall set off just before 10am, followed by the main field at 10am sharp.

Participants enjoyed a scenic route along Nettleham Road, passing the landmark Lincoln Cathedral, before heading towards Yarborough Castle and across to Ravendale Sports Ground, looping back to a memorable finish framed by the iconic cathedral backdrop.

In the main race, the first male to cross the line was Joe Wilkinson in 30 minutes 49 seconds, followed by William Strangeway in 31 minutes 3 seconds, with Jacob Parkinson finishing third in 31 minutes 45 seconds.
The women’s field was led home by Charlie Thornton in 35 minutes 35 seconds, follow by Faith and Raissa who followed closely behind.

In the elite wheelchair category, victory went to Callum Hall, who finished in an impressive time of 25 minutes 27 seconds.

Huge congratulations to everyone who took part – from those achieving a PB to those fundraising for a cause close to their heart, and those simply enjoying being part of the community.

And of course, a massive thank you to the spectators who lined up the streets and created an unforgettable atmosphere. We’re already looking forward to returning to Lincoln later in the year for the half marathon and encourage anyone considering it to sign up.”
