500 Miles for 500 Lives

Chris Rodgers will not only be running 500 miles in 36 weeks, but he'll be doing so whilst in full construction kit, including; hard hat, glasses, gloves, overalls and safety boots as well as a 2 metre flag.

On average, 500 people take their own life in construction every year, it undoubtedly is the industry's biggest killer. Over 36 weeks from the 1st January - 10th September 2025, Christopher will be running 500 miles in full construction PPE. On average, he will be running half a marathon every single week for 36 weeks and will be taking part in runs throughout the UK, joining us at Ramathon.

He's doing this to help start the conversation about suicide mental health within the industry. Working in construction can come with various stressors which can significantly contribute to an individuals mental state.

Chris' partner charity 'Mates in Mind' work across the industry doing a number of proactive work to help reduce these numbers, their knowledge on spotting signs and symptoms in vast which they help to educate the industry through a number of targeted courses. Chris wants to help people to start the conversation and wants to educate people along the way.

He is currently 346 miles in and will be 360 miles in by the time Ramathon starts.
