Abbie Celebrates 100th Marathon at Yorkshire Marathon

Abbie is joining us at the Altra Yorkshire Marathon this October to celebrate running her 100th marathon. It all first started at the 2018 Yorkshire Marathon, Abbie's first ever marathon.

"Crossing the finish line was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget..."

From that day forward, Abbie had caught the marathon bug - she returned the following year, and achieved her goal of a sub 4 hour marathon.

"Before I knew it, the marathons turned into ultra marathons, and I went from running 1 or 2 marathons a year to over 20."

Over the last 7 years, she went from chasing PBs to enjoying long days out on trail runs, where it is about the finish line, not the finish time.

"Every marathon holds a memory, every marathon has been shared with amazing people, and every marathon has been that one step closer to achieving my ultimate goal of 100 marathons."

She is returning to the Yorkshire marathon in the hopes that her 100th will be as special as her first:

"Where better to celebrate than the place it all started?"

But, it wouldn't have been possible without either her mum Lexi or Bradd, who have joined her on every marathon since she started.

"I can't wait to cross that finish line with them both in October!"
