Jane Returns to Sheffield 10K After Beating Battle With Cancer

Jane will be taking on the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K again this year, having completed it last year after having chemotherapy.

“This year I run for me!”

The last year has been tough for Jane, both physically and mentally as she continues to recover from her cancer.

“Trying to get back to work and dealing with the new me. I’m struggling.”

Jane took part in the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K last year, running with a team of friends and family, and raising over £8,000 for Weston Park.

“I was 5 months post-treatment, after having chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy, and it was my way of saying thank you for all their help and support.”

This year, training has been difficult too, and it will be no easy race, but the community of Sheffield will get her through.

“I am a Sheffield lady and know that the support, encouragement and sound made by the people of Sheffield will carry me around and across that finishing line somehow.”

“I will cross that line and be proud and grateful to be a cancer survivor.”
