Lisa will be running this year’s Lincoln Half Marathon, for a charity close to her heart and one of the event’s partner charities, the Lincoln City Foundation.
In July 2024 after Lisa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer, the Lincoln City Foundation and the support it provides became a hugely important part of her life.
Lisa joined the Foundation’s Fighting Fit Cancer Program, which helped her both physically and mentally and helped her to come away feeling energised and better about herself.
“I wouldn’t have had the cancer journey I have had, without the support of this group.”
Since joining the group, Lisa has learned how much the Foundation makes a difference to her local community, inspiring her fundraising.
“I learned how the variety of groups it provides makes a difference to so many people in the area and how much it helps those people, just like it has helped me.”
She ran the City of Lincoln 10K in April, a huge achievement, and is now taking on the Lincoln Half Marathon in October to raise funds and bring awareness to the Foundation and the services they provide.
She will also be taking on the London Marathon in 2026 to raise funds for the Foundation.
"Being able to give back in this way is truly an honour, and one I am very proud of.”
“I hope by running the Lincoln Half Marathon on behalf of the foundation, I will bring more awareness of the work the Foundation does and the impact it has on its local residents.”
