7 Yorkshire Runs: Mark's MND Fundraising Challenge

Mark is taking part in his very own running challenge this year to raise money for the MND Association.

Taking part in 7 Yorkshire runs between April and November, Mark is running 3 marathons - the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, the Sir Titus Autumn Fudge Trudge Marathon, the Altra Yorkshire Marathon - and 4 trail half marathons in Burnsall, Kettlewell, Malham, and Bolton Abbey.

He was inspired by Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow, admiring their friendship, kindness, and determination to succeed in the face of adversity. Mark is joining Kevin by running in Rob's memory to try and find a cure for the cruel disease.

"I regard myself as extremely lucky that, at the age of 62, I still have my health and fitness to allow me to attempt this challenge, and therefore be able to help those who are struggling to cope with the effects of MND."

Mark decided to do 7 Yorkshire runs to honour Rob, who was a proud Yorkshireman, and wore a number 7 when he played for Leeds Rhinos.

"I thought this would be a fitting challenge to take on in his memory."
