After struggling with her mental health for as long as she can remember, Alice has pushed herself to run the Yorkshire Marathon this October.
First noticing how her emotions differed from those around her as a teenager, Alice was diagnosed with depression at the age of 16, and later with severe depression, and finally with Bipolar type 2 at the age of 30.
However, despite her diagnosis and gaining a greater understanding of her mental health, Alice continues to experience episodes.
"I have and always will experience episodes throughout my life, and these episodes continue to be very severe for me."
She trained consistently for over a year before having a depressive episode at the beginning of this year. However, once she was able to bring herself out of it, she made a vow that she would "keep moving".
"I want people to be able to resonate with each other, and I want people to know that you can keep moving."
Running and training has been, and continues to be a saviour for Alice in her darkest times, and she runs to let others know that they are not alone in their struggles.
