Dave's Year Long Challenge for Cancer Research

Dave is running the Coventry Half Marathon this April in memory of his mum, Marcia, who he sadly lost to stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2022, only 8 weeks after her diagnosis.

Being in care from age 7, Dave only began to develop a relationship with his mum when he turned 18 years old.

"This year I turn 30 years old - a milestone I would have loved my mum to have been here for."

However, Coventry is only a small part of a bigger challenge.

Dave is marking his 30th birthday by challenging himself to do a minimum of 30km of activity (a combination of running, walking, and cycling) in every month of 2026!

Within the first fifteen days of January, he had already completed his goal, and reached a whopping 66.7km by the end of the month.

He will be raising money for Cancer Research UK throughout the year in the hopes that it can help to support people like his mum in the future. You can help Dave in his fundraising efforts by visiting his JustGiving page, seen below.
