Despite being born with a club foot, Lewis is participating in this year's Altra Yorkshire Marathon to prove to both himself and others that his condition won't stop him.
Lewis was a serious case, with his toes pointing in the completely wrong direction, and had to be operated on at only 7 months old. Thankfully, his surgeon, Mr Payton, did a phenomenal job, which changed his life entirely.
"I will forever be grateful to this wonderful man."
However, Lewis' parents were told that he would never be able to walk properly. But, in spite of the bleak prognosis, Lewis can not only walk, but run, despite his right foot and calf muscle being significantly smaller than the left.
"I believe my participation in sport throughout my life has helped me overcome any potential problems."
After completing a half marathon in 2024 with a time of 1 hour and 54 minutes, Lewis decided to take part in the Yorkshire Marathon this year to keep proving that he can do the impossible.
"I have two young boys who are my world, and I want to show them that, no matter what life throws at you, nothing is impossible."
