Lottie is running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon next May in memory of her grandad, who sadly passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in 2017.
"...Watching him deteriorate was heart-breaking, not just for me, but for our whole family. It was devastating to see such a strong, fit man slowly lose the ability to do the simplest things, all while knowing that there was no cure."
One of his last wishes was to visit New York, which his family were thankfully able to make happen before his condition worsened too much.
Lottie runs for her grandad, as well as the thousands of others living with MND. She runs to raise more awareness, and to keep the conversation going to ensure that more support and research is available for those affected.
"When I run, I'll be thinking about my grandad, the way he never let MND steal his spirit, and all the families who are facing that same battle right now. It's my hope that, by sharing my story, I can help shine a light on the impact of MND, and why finding a cure matters so much."
