Natasha will be running the Leeds Abbey Dash on Sunday 30th November for her dad, and event she takes part in every year so that her dad can come and cheer her on.
“On the 21st of April 2019, my dad suffered a life-altering stroke out of nowhere.”
A week after the stroke, Natasha’s Dad, Mark, suffered a catastrophic brain bleed and their family were told he was unlikely to survive.
“But, thanks to the amazing staff at Leeds General Infirmary he survived and regained consciousness a few weeks later.”
“Although he is significantly changed through disability, being paralysed on his entire left side, and unable to speak properly, he still has a wicked sense of humour and charm.”
Natasha runs to raise awareness about strokes, and to show her dad how proud she is of him and for everything he has accomplished after the difficulties he has been through. The Leeds Abbey Dash is an every she takes part in every year, so that her family, including her Dad, can come and show their support and appreciation for what Natasha does.
“He is the strongest person in my life and though running 10km is hard, it’s nothing compared to what he does every day.”
