There are so many approaches to tackling a marathon and for many having the right kit is an essential part of that all-important preparation.
The above applies to Rhino Boy Chris, and yes, there’s a clue in his nickname. For Chris, in his continuing quest to help save the Rhino, he’ll be donning a rhinoceros outfit for his third consecutive Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and an astounding 114th it total.
His 113th marathon was in London, and now he is trotting on to Leeds with his outfit to be on the start line on Sunday.
And his achievements have meant that Chris and the Rhino have managed to achieve a whole new Guinness World Record at the London Marathon in the not so well known, but impressive category of ‘most marathons run in the same three dimensional costume.’
There is, of course, a more serious side to his exploits. The twisted trade in rhino horn has pushed this magnificent species to the brink of extinction, and Chris wants to do everything he can to raise awareness of their plight and raise funds for the Save the Rhino charity.
An incredible effort from a passionate and committed man, we wish Rhino Boy Chris the very best of luck on Sunday in his continuing quest for awareness. And for many of his fellow competitors, they’ll be able to say that they got overtaken by a rhino!
