Morag is running the York 10K this August, which will be her first 10K since her diagnosis of stage 2 breast cancer.
The particular cancer that Morag had does not image well, and so was not picked up by a mammogram or ultrasound, and couldn't be felt. She was offered a biopsy to "put her mind at rest", which was how her cancer was found.
She has since been through a mastectomy, reconstruction, and reduction last December following her diagnosis of stage 2 breast cancer.
"Everyone's cancer pathway is different. I consider myself very lucky to have had an early diagnosis and successful treatment, and to be able to continue with my life."
Following her treatment, Morag did not run at all for 6 months. She built it up slowly, walking to stay in shape while she began running again, first on her own, and then doing the park run.
She is now determined to run the York 10K, but aims not to be fast, "but to complete the course".
