Team Harry is running this year's Bury 10K to continue working towards their goal of raising £40,000 for Meningitis Now after the passing of Louise and John's son, Harry, who sadly died from meningococcal meningitis at only 8 months old.
Louise: "It's been ten years since we lost our beautiful Harry, but his memory drives every day. Every event, every donation is another way to honour his life and help protect others."
The team has already raised £35,000 by doing many other events over 2025, such as the Manchester 10K, a white-collar boxing event, and the Tough Mudder Yorkshire challenge.
But their efforts are not just about numbers; it's about awareness, action, and preventing other families from suffering such devastating loss. The team is fuelled by love, resilience, and an unshakeable community spirit, as friends and family are helping Louise and John to achieve their goal.
They have 25 runners participating in the Bury 10K: Louise Done, Lee Hanson, Barry Walsh, Rachel Cross, Matthew Cross, Wayne Lockley, Steph Johnson, Alex Jones, Emma Mottershead, Rebecca Hall, Adam Jones, Dan Lucas, Lisa Bailey, Phil Regan, Kate Sutcliffe, Hayley Yates, Lauren Beecroft,, Abbie Johnson, Rachael Thornton, Andrew Thornton, Reece Yates, Lorraine Boase, Olivia Vining, Rachel Cull, Glenn Exton.
John: "We're extremely proud of what we've achieved, but we need that final push to get us to £40,000. Every bit of support helps."
