WHEN IS THE CLOSING DATE?
5pm on the Thursday before or when the event reaches capacity (whichever is sooner).
THE EVENT IS SOLD OUT, HOW CAN I GET A PLACE?
Contact one of the event partner charities if the event has sold out.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM ENTERED?
You will also receive a confirmation email – remember to check your spam folders.
CAN I ENTER ON THE DAY?
If entries are available, it will be detailed on the website.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
You must be 15 years or over on race day.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE PART AS A TEAM?

Can I change my details?
CAN I AMEND MY DETAILS?
Changes to your entry details can be made prior to race packs being posted. You will receive a one-week warning email to ensure your details, including your address, are correct and to update any details if necessary. If you need to change details at any other time, submit a ‘Contact Us’ enquiry form.
My question is about withdrawing from the event.
I HAVE REGISTERED BUT AM NOW UNABLE TO TAKE PART, WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

CAN I GIVE MY RUNNER NUMBER TO SOMEONE ELSE?
Transferring of race numbers is not permitted. Runners using someone else’s number will be disqualified and will not receive a time. The original entrant will be reported to UK Athletics who may take further action. Number-swapping is strictly prohibited for various reasons, the most important of which is the confusion it can cause in the event of an incident or emergency on route.
My question is about running for charity.
We actively encourage our participants to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts. You can explore the official partner charities of the event on the website.
CAN I RAISE MONEY FOR A CHARITY OR CAUSE NOT LISTED AS A PARTNER?
Yes. Just contact your chosen charity direct to request a fundraising pack or with any queries.
I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY FUNDRAISING PACK, WHO SHOULD I CONTACT?
If you requested a fundraising pack, we will share your email address with your chosen charity. They will send any details straight to you, so if you have any questions or queries, then contact your charity direct.
My question is about my race pack.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY RACE PACK?
Your race number will posted to the address that you entered when you registered for the event. Race numbers will start to be posted to your registered address from around 7 -10 days prior to the event. If you register on event week, then you will need to collect your race number from our Race Office on event weekend.
If you have not received your race number when it should have been posted or you have lost your race number, please come to the Race Office at either of the above times.
WHAT WILL MY RACE PACK CONTAIN?
Your race pack will only contain your running number, with attached timing chip and baggage tag. You will receive all other information by email. If you have unsubscribed from emails you may not receive these details. However, the race guide can also be downloaded from the website.
I REGISTERED WITH A FOREIGN ADDRESS, WILL I STILL RECEIVE MY RACE PACK IN THE POST?
If you registered with an overseas address, you will need to collect your race number on race weekend. You will receive your race guide and other details by email, or you can view information on the website.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I RECEIVE MY RACE PACK?
Please check that the numbers printed on your running number and timing chip match. You should also take the time to read your electronic event guide ahead of the day. If the numbers listed on your running number and chip are different, please let us know by submitting an enquiry form. Likewise if your number is missing, please let us know.

I have a question about event day.
WHAT TIME DOES THE RACE START?
The Middlesbrough 10K wheelchair race starts at 9:30am with the main race starting at 10:45am. Please arrive in plenty of time to drop of any bags, use the toilet facilities and visit the Event Village. Remember traffic will be busy so leave extra time.
DO I NEED TO REGISTER ON EVENT DAY?
You DO NOT need to register on the day.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY OFFICIAL TIME?
If you gave us your mobile number, you should receive your time by SMS. You'll also receive an email and a full list of results will be on our website.
Information will be added in due course.
WILL CHANGING FACILITIES BE AVAILABLE?
HOW CAN I MEET UP WITH FRIENDS/RELATIVES AFTER THE RACE?
Please arrange to meet your friends or family in the Castle grounds as the finish area will be exceptionally busy.
WHAT DO I RECEIVE ONCE I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE?
You will be given a goody bag with a T-shirt (in the size you chose on entering) and a souvenir medal along with other treats. You will also receive a bottle of water and isotonic drink.
I have a question about the route.
WILL THERE BE PACERS?
You will find pacers in the appropriate time zones. Remember to thank them if you hit your target!
WHAT FUEL PROVISION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON COURSE?
There is a water station on route at the finish.
ARE THERE ANY TOILETS ON ROUTE?
Toilets can be found at the start and finish, but not on course for the Middlesbrough 10K.
My question is about headphones.
CAN I USE HEADPHONES?
Yes, however we ask that you set the volume to a point where you will still be able to hear marshals’ instructions, emergency vehicles and fellow competitors. Any brand of headphones are allowed on the day of the event.
Can I run in fancy dress?
CAN I TAKE PART IN FANCY DRESS?
Yes! The day is all about having fun and raising money for charity. Please do keep it clean, though, and ensure the outfit can not be deemed offensive or dangerous to other runners or spectators.
Can I take part on a bike or skates?
CAN I TAKE PART ON A BIKE, ROLLER SKATES OR SOMETHING SIMILAR?
No, participation must be on foot unless a you are a registered wheelchair entrant.
Can I run with a pram?
CAN I RUN WITH A CHILD IN A PUSHCHAIR/RUNNING BUGGY/SLING?
No, unfortunately, for safety reasons you can’t run with a child under the age of 15 in any circumstances.
Can I run with my dog?

Sorry, but no.
I have a question about running with a specific need or visual impairments.
I AM A WHEELCHAIR USER OR HAVE SPECIFIC ACCESS REQUIREMENTS, CAN I TAKE PART?
Yes, of course. If you are a wheelchair user, please ensure you enter under the correct entry type when registering. If you are to be aided around the course, either by being pushed or assisted, by a guide runner, your guide runner must also be a registered participant in the event, however this entry is complimentary. Please submit an enquiry form with your registration ID to advise us of your specific requirements. We recommend that only experienced wheelchair racers attempt the courses unaided.
I AM A VISUALLY IMPAIRED RUNNER. CAN I TAKE PART?
Yes! UKA recommend a visually impaired participant takes part with a guide runner. For more information regarding guide runners please see the England Athletics website. Entry for a guide runner is complimentary. Please submit a ‘Contact Us’ form to advise us you need a free place for a guide runner.
I have a question about volunteering.
I'M INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING, WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Hundreds of volunteers are needed at each event to ensure the day runs smoothly and everyone has an amazing time. Roles vary from route marshals and start/finish marshals to helping on drinks stations or in the baggage store. Please refer to our volunteer pages for more information.
